Ending your tenancy

You can find useful information to help you end your tenancy, below.

How can I end my tenancy?

When you want to move out, you will need to give notice of your intention to end your tenancy. You can do this by completing our online form:

You can also let us know by writing to:

How much notice do I have to give?

You will need to give us four weeks’ notice to end your tenancy. Tenancy weeks always start on a Monday so if you give us notice to quit on a Wednesday, the four weeks’ notice period will not start until the following Monday.

Your notice will end at midnight on the Sunday. Vacant possession of your home and the keys must be returned to us before 12 noon on a Monday. If not, you will be charged for a further week’s rent.

What happens once I have given notice?

Once we have received notice to end your tenancy, we will arrange a visit to inspect your home and let you know anything that you need to do before you leave your property.

How should I leave my property?

You need to remove all furniture, personal possessions and rubbish, leaving the home and fixtures in a clean, lettable standard.

If you have a garden, you will need to ensure that it is free from rubbish and in a neat condition before you leave.

You will be recharged for the cost of:

  • Replacing any missing or damaged items
  • Replacing any alterations to which we did not give written consent
  • Removing and storing personal belongings left in the property
  • Cleaning the property, if necessary
