Homes Plus, formerly South Staffordshire Housing Association, Severnside Housing and Stafford and Rural Homes, is a leading provider of affordable homes in Staffordshire and Shropshire. We are a member of Housing Plus Group, owning 19,000 homes and employing more than 900 local people.

Our name

We are called Homes Plus because safe and well-maintained homes are what is most important to us. Our name is also a reminder of our essential Plus services like employment and money advice and support for the wellbeing of local areas.

Our values are what make us different

Homes Plus is part of Housing Plus Group, a values-driven organisation working together to deliver affordable homes and care services that people can trust.

Our mission is to be a resilient organisation, making a positive difference to homes, lives and communities. Our values are how we do that, every day. The CLARITY values rest on you. That is because however large we grow, we never forget that every customer counts.

Services delivered locally by the people you know

Because we are here for people not for profit, the rent that we collect can be invested into home improvements and repairs. It helps us offer even better care and support services and allows us to build and purchase more affordable homes.

Homes Plus is here for

  • Your Home – all our customers can expect the same standards of safety, improvements and repairs
  • Your Life – a wider range of care and support for older people and families
  • Your Community – investment in neighbourhoods, support for foodbanks and backing for local initiatives
“I’ve worked here for 13 years and when I finish work each day, it means a lot to know that I’ve made a positive difference in my own community.”
Joe Sproston, voids and lettings team leader, Homes Plus
“For me, it’s about doing something that helps other people. I’ve definitely gained a lot of confidence from being an involved customer and I know that we are helping to improve services.”
Julia, Homes Plus customer, member of our Scrutiny Group and part of the Housing Ombudsman’s Resident Panel
Nathan Gregson
“An apprenticeship was the right choice for me. I enjoy what I’m doing, we’re improving homes and making people happy.”
Nathan Gregson, former apprentice now part of our planned maintenance team
“I’m lucky to live somewhere with a really strong sense of community and we look out for each other. I enjoy getting involved and if I can be there for a chat and make someone laugh then I feel as though I’ve achieved something.”
