Homes Plus supports ‘Crucial’ training for schoolchildren

Published: June 8th 2022

Each year, Shrewsbury and Oswestry Crucial Crew holds an event attended by as many as 1500 children from up to 60 local primary schools as part of the all-important preparation for secondary school.

The event has been running for 27 years during which time more than 31,000 children have attended the popular workshops. They have received training on topics like internet safety, first aid, hate crimes and the dangers of building sites, farms, rivers and railways.

At Homes Plus we are big admirers of the great work of Crucial Crew and are pleased to be able to support their work this year, with a donation from our My Community Fund. As Volunteers Week continues, some of our colleagues have also been making a positive difference by lending a hand to make sure the workshops ran smoothly.

Charities, voluntary groups or community organisations can apply for sponsorship from the My Community fund here.
