Housing Plus Group has donated £1,025 to Bomere Heath Cricket Club.
The affordable housing provider made the donation to the cricket club from its My Community Fund, which supports a wide range of projects run by voluntary groups and organisations in Shropshire, Staffordshire and Telford.
The money helped to fund the cricket club’s summer camp which sees more than 50 children take part in activities, learn skills and make new friends during the school holidays.
Run by volunteers from the cricket club, the camp engages children aged between five and 12 in sport and play as well as arts and crafts and nature hunts.
This year the summer camp ran from July 30 to August 1, with activities such as circus skills, dance and drama and cricket coaching funded by Housing Plus Group.
Rebecca Preece, one of the summer camp co-ordinators, said: “We were absolutely delighted by Housing Plus Group’s donation. This year we had some brilliant activities for the children and we couldn’t have run some of these without it, we were thrilled.
“The camp is a massive help for parents in the village who are working through the school holidays and it’s a great opportunity for children to get together, take part in healthy activities and learn new skills.
“It’s good fun, the kids just love it and they can’t wait to come back again each year.”
The summer camp ends with a barbecue for all the children who took part and their families.

The My Community Fund, delivered in partnership with Jewson and Efficiency East Midlands Limited (EEM), supports grass-roots organisations in Shropshire, Staffordshire and Telford.
