We’re proud to support Hoarding Awareness Week (12 – 18 May 2025) by highlighting the practical help and tailored support available to customers, and their families, who may be affected by hoarding behaviour.
Hoarding is often misunderstood. It can be linked to complex mental health challenges such as anxiety, trauma, or loss – and it can affect anyone. That’s why our approach is rooted in compassion, dignity and partnership working.
Our teams regularly support customers facing difficult situations.
Hoarding can impact not only the person experiencing it, but their loved ones, neighbours, and even staff visiting homes. Our staff receive training to recognise when extra support might be needed – and to know how to help in a respectful, non-judgemental way.
As part of our commitment to raising awareness, we’re encouraging customers to explore the Clouds End website – a leading organisation supporting people affected by hoarding.
The Community Interest Company (CIC) offers valuable information about hoarding disorder, practical advice for how to talk to someone you’re concerned about, and steps you can take to start making a difference – whether that’s in your own home or someone else’s.
